#WellnessWeds: The Benefits of Himalayan Salt

I first discovered Himalayan salt when I was looking for detox bath recipes.  I found that adding it to my detox baths helped me to sleep better and made my skin softer.    Then I was introduced to another benefit of Himalayan salt when I went to a Korean Bath Spa and enjoyed an hour in a salt cave.  My skin felt amazing after that experience. I wanted to learn more about Himalayan salt and why it was suddenly so popular.  I found that Himalayan salt has many benefits that go far beyond relaxing the body and relieving stress.  Himalayan salt contains 84 different minerals and elements that are present in the human body and is an unrefined, unprocessed salt that is hand mined from salt caves in the Himalayan Mountains.  Because of its many minerals and elements, it can:

Improves Circulation and Muscle RelaxerSalt Baths stimulate circulation and soothe sore muscles.

Detoxes the Body:  A salt bath helps draw out toxins, deep cleanses the skin, and helps cleanse the body energetically.

Natural Air Purifier and Improves Respiratory Problems:  inhaling salt infused air clears mucus, reduces sinus inflammation and kills germs. You can visit salt caves or use a salt inhaler.  When one inhales the salty air, the salt particles travel through respiratory system. The antibacterial and antimicrobial properties purify and detox the lungs and sinuses.

Helps in Digestion: Create a "Sole" (a solution containing purified water and pink salt).  Daily use of Sole can contribute to balance stomach acid, support production of digestive fluids in liver and pancreas and regulate your metabolism and proper PH Levels in the body.

Increase hydration &  control water levels: Sodium Chloride is the main ingredient in table salt, which leaves you dehydrated because your body needs a lot of water to break down that chemical. Pink salt regulates moisture content through the body and replaces electrolytes.

Strengthen bones: Pink Salt has a higher calcium content than table salt, so a little bit at each meal can strengthen bones over time.

Improved Skin and Anti-Aging Properties: Provides relief and healing of psoriasis, eczema and other skin conditions, Natural exfoliant

Many Cooking Uses:  Himalayan salt can also be utilized in the kitchen (use pre-ground salt or grinders) instead of table salt for a healthier option, or you can even cook with Salt Slabs for flavoring and serving.  Salt Slaps are antimicrobial, making it a clean & safe way to serve chicken and fish.

My daughter has horrible allergies, and I recently ordered a Himalayan salt lamp for her room to see if her allergies improve. Also, I’m making my oldest take salt baths to see if there is any improvement in his eczema.    I’ll keep you guys updated on whether or not I see any differences, but I can tell you, it does wonders for me mentally and physically thanks to detox baths, and I saw an incredible improvement in my dry skin but creating scrubs with it.

Do you use Pink Himalayan Salt? If so, what are some things you use it for and how is it working for you?

Until next time,

Take care of yourselves and one another
