#SaturdaySwag: "Patio Pimpin": Summer Entertaining Essentials!

Summer Entertaining

Memorial Day Weekend kicks off Summer Entertaining and BBQ season.   My friends and I like to call it “Patio Pimpin”.  It’s the time of year where you gather with friends on beautiful summer days and nights to eat, drink and chill, usually at home in the backyard or patio.  I’ve compiled a list of my Patio Pimpin essentials to help you and your friends plan the perfect holiday cookout!

 Music

There isn’t a cookout without a great playlist.  Whether you have a DJ on hand for larger events or just your favorite playlist, you need a portable speaker system that will make your favorite songs sound even better!

Festive Décor/Tableware/Lighting

I’m all about ambiance.  Just because you are at home and very casual doesn’t mean you can’t have your décor cute and fabulous.  Each year I pick a color scheme that’s fun and I grab a few items for my summer holiday events.  Plates, cups, a nice tablecloth and a few serving dishes that scream summer fun!  If you are hosting an event at your home, set the patio table and add some festive lighting if you can. It sets the mood and let’s your guests feel welcome and ready for a good time!

Bug repellant

It comes with being outdoors more, bugs! Mosquitos are annoying and bothersome. Make sure you have plenty of repellant on hand for your guests.  Keep them in a cute container near the patio door. Don’t forget your citronella candles as well!  It makes eating and drinking outdoors a whole lot more enjoyable!

Dope Dip

My friends and I love to snack! Whenever we get together we love chips with a good dip. We are always on the hunt for new flavors to try.   I love

Grill

Those summer dishes aren’t going to cook themselves! This is a summer staple for an outdoor BBQ or summer entertaining.  The market has so many different options and styles; you can find the perfect grill that compliments the look of your yard/patio.  Keeping the menu simple is usually the best way to enjoy your friends without feeling like you are stuck at the grill all day.   Experiment with different seasonings and marinades to give old favorites a new twist!

Signature Cocktail

Every year I select a cocktail or two that will be the summer drink of choice. I’ll make these cocktails all summer long for cookouts, picnics and beach days!

Hope you enjoyed a few of my essentials for summer entertaining! I’m looking forward to “Patio Pimpin” with my friends this summer!

What are some of your summer entertaining essentials? I’d love to know!

 Until next time,

Take care of yourselves and one another
